The OSHA Training Center is urging construction industry employers and workers to participate in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s 2nd Annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction from May 4-15, 2015. Because falls account for the highest number of deaths in the construction industry, it is vitally important to raise awareness about the hazards associated with falls on construction jobsites.
During the voluntary National Safety Stand-Down construction companies are invited to break from their regular work schedule anytime from May 4-15, 2015, to conduct a safety meeting, toolbox talk or other safety activity, such as organizing a safety equipment inspection, developing rescue plans or discussing job specific hazards.
Fall prevention resources and information on how to conduct a successful National Safety Stand-Down activity may be found on the OSHA website.
