Elimination of 90-Day Grace Period

OSHA will be eliminating the authorized trainer “90-day grace period” for all trainers who expire on or after January 1, 2019. Elimination of the grace period is intended to reduce confusion regarding trainer authorization status and to encourage trainers to maintain their authorization. It is recommended that trainers begin scheduling their refresher course well in advance of their expiration date. Authorized trainers that let their authorization expire will not be able to take the refresher course and must meet all prerequisite requirements to attend the initial trainer course. See our re-authorization flowchart for help in determining which class(es) to take.
