Construction Industry Digest

OSHA published a Construction Industry Digest to help employers maintain compliance with specific OSHA standards, including the requirement that all construction industry employers develop injury and illness prevention programs (IIPP). OSHA’s Construction Industry Digest provides summaries of the most frequently used construction industry standards, presented alphabetically followed by a reference to the appropriate regulation.

Contractors and employers who do construction work must comply with standards in 29 CFR 1926. Subpart C, General Safety and Health Provisions, as well as other specific sections of these standards, including initiating and maintaining an IIPP, providing for a competent person to conduct frequent and regular inspections, and training each employee to recognize and avoid unsafe conditions in a language and vocabulary they can understand.
