Rick Hamaker
Rick has over 40years in occupational safety and health. He is a certified industrial hygienist (CIH) and certified safety professional (CSP). His career began as an OSHA Compliance Officer –industrial hygienistvisiting small industry, primary and secondary steel mills, primary and secondary copper smelters. For several years, he provided industrial hygiene oversight of the Arizona Divisionof Occupational Safety and Health program.
From Arizona DOSH, Rick worked asa health and safety specialist at a guided-missile systems manufacturing plantwhere he developed and implemented health and safety programs. From manufacturing, he went into environmental and health and safety consulting, where he worked with clients to develop their programs, managed lead and asbestos remediation projects, and managed employees and was the regional health and safety manager for environmental consulting firms.
In the LA basin, Rick responded as health and safety officer and scene commander for minor hazardous materials events. As a consultant, he worked with several large industrial clients in developing health and safety programs, resolving health and safety issues, obtaining VPP status,and conducting safety and health audits.
Finally, Rickwas the corporate safety manager for industrial hygiene at an electrical power company. He is currently an OSHA Authorized Trainer for General and Construction Industry and teaches several subjects.
