The maritime industry encompasses the construction, repair and scrapping of vessels, as well as the movement of cargo and other materials. OSHA standards cover safety requirements at marine terminals and in longshoring and shipyard operations.
There are many hazards associated with the maritime industry, including slips, trips and falls, machinery and equipment hazards, hazardous chemicals, confined/enclosed spaces and fire hazards.
