Course Description
Respiratory Protection covers the requirements for establishing, maintaining and monitoring a respiratory protection program, including terminology, OSHA standards, NIOSH certification and medical evaluation recommendations. Course highlights incorporate hands-on experience with respirator selection, qualitative fit testing, and the use of a large array of respiratory and support equipment for training.

Bring your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to class including:
- Respirators – Please bring your own assigned half/full face respirator with proof of occupational respiratory protection medical clearance* if you plan to participate in hands-on activities. This would also include your self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), if available.
* Medical eligibility is to be determined by a physician or other licensed health care professional (referred to as a “PLHCP”). See Appendix C to 29 CFR 1910.134 or T8 CCR Section 5144 OSHA Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire.
