OTC 308 – Safety Inspection Techniques
Course Description
Safety and health inspections are shown to be essential parts of the hazard control process. This course will concentrate on how inspections are conducted and how the information is used to improve safety and health. You will learn the most commonly used safety inspection standards, tools and techniques in this course and learn an organized approach to inspecting and auditing projects to insure OSHA compliance and injury prevention. Students will perform an inspection during a class field trip and will prepare a final inspection report. Students are required to bring appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the course including hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses, work boots, etc.
Prerequisites
Completion of OSHA 510 or OSHA 511 or a minimum of three (3) years of occupational safety and health experience is recommended.
