OSHA 7505 – Introduction to Incident (Accident) Investigation
Course Description
This course introduces basic accident investigation procedures and describes accident analysis techniques. Upon course completion students will have the basic skills necessary to conduct an effective accident investigation at the workplace.
Topics include:
- Characteristics of an effective accident investigation program
- Process for conducting accident investigations
- The six-step accident investigation procedure
- Preserving and documenting accident scenes
- Collecting facts through interviews
- Develop sequence of events
- Determining the cause
- Developing recommendations
- Report writing
- Recordkeeping
- Fatality Assessment & Control Evaluation program
Target Audience:
The employer, manager, employee, or employee representative who is involved in the organization’s safety and health system, and who would be involved in conducting accident and/or near-miss investigations.
