OSHA 5402 - Maritime Outreach Trainer Update
Course Description: Students will be able to
demonstrate continued professional development in their field by
applying effective adult learning principles and interactive training
techniques to clearly identify, define and explain maritime industry
hazards and acceptable corrective measures in accordance with the 29 CFR
1915, 1917, 1918 and 1919 OSHA Maritime Standards as they continue to
teach 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA outreach courses.
Prerequisites: OSHA #5400 Trainer Course for the Maritime Industry
NOTE: Outreach Trainers are required to attend this
course once every four (4) years to maintain their authorized trainer
status. Prior to registration, students must provide a copy of their
current trainer card for validation and complete a prerequisite form.
Please note that your card must not be more than 90 days expired. If
the card is more than 90 days expired, you will need to retake the OSHA #5400 Trainer Course for the Maritime Industry.
Students in OSHA #5402 must prepare a presentation on an assigned
OSHA maritime outreach topic individually or as part of a group, and
successfully pass a written exam at the end of the course to renew
certification.
